Ideal Home Show 2026: Thoughtful Design, Real-Life Impact
The Ideal Home Show has come to a close for another year, and for The Incredible Dog Shower Co it marked a particularly meaningful moment.
Over the course of the show, we had the opportunity to share our dog showers with a wide audience, from dog owners navigating the everyday realities of muddy paws and wet coats, to visitors with a strong appreciation for considered, design-led living.
It was also a pleasure to spend time with respected voices including Clare Balding, Nick Knowles, George Clarke and Graham Halcyon, each recognising the value of solutions shaped around real life rather than added as an afterthought.
More than anything, the show created space for conversations about how homes are changing. Increasingly, people are looking for ways to make everyday routines simpler while still maintaining calm, well-designed living environments. That shift sits at the heart of why The Incredible Dog Shower was created.
Designed Around Everyday Living
Living with dogs brings constant movement between indoors and out. It’s part of what makes life with them so enjoyable, but it also brings familiar challenges. Mud after walks, wet coats in winter and the practical question of where best to wash your dog without disrupting the rest of the home.
The Incredible Dog Shower was created in response to those moments.
Not as an afterthought or a workaround solution, but as a considered addition to the home itself. Something that supports everyday routines while still sitting comfortably within both practical spaces and carefully designed interiors.
From the beginning, the intention was simple. Dog care should feel integrated into the home rather than hidden away from it. Our dog showers combine functionality with a refined, minimal aesthetic so that it works equally well in utility rooms, boot rooms, garden buildings and high-quality interior spaces.
That balance between practicality and design shaped how the product was experienced at the Ideal Home Show this year.
Two Settings, One Purpose
At the show, the Explorer Dog Shower was presented in two distinct environments, each reflecting a different way of living with dogs.
Within the Dogs Trust Bark Yard, the shower formed part of the Pooch Parlour grooming area. The Bark Yard itself was designed as a thoughtful outdoor space centred around canine wellbeing and everyday routines, showing how gardens can support dogs’ comfort, safety and natural behaviour while still feeling visually cohesive and enjoyable for the whole household.
Inside a beautifully designed lodge by Your Retreats, the same shower demonstrated something slightly different. In this setting, visitors could see how the shower integrates naturally into a contemporary interior without feeling purely functional or out of place.
Experiencing the product across both environments helped people understand not just how the shower works, but how naturally it belongs within the home.
We’re grateful to the teams at Style Makers Present, Dogs Trust and Your Retreats for their collaboration in bringing these spaces to life.
Part of the Bark Yard Concept
The Bark Yard was one of the most talked-about features of the show this year. Created in partnership with Dogs Trust and designed by The Style Makers, it explored how outdoor areas can be shaped around dogs’ wellbeing without compromising on aesthetics.
The space brought together playful enrichment areas, calm resting zones and practical grooming solutions, showing how gardens can support both dogs and the people who live with them.
Within the Pooch Parlour area, the Incredible Dog Shower formed part of a dedicated washing and grooming setup designed to make everyday care easier after outdoor play. Seeing the shower positioned within this broader context helped visitors understand how naturally it fits into routines already in place in dog-owning households.
A Moment of Recognition
During the show, The Incredible Dog Shower also featured in conversations on This Morning at the Dogs Trust stand.
When consumer editor Alice Beer described the product as “beautiful”, it resonated strongly with us. Not simply as praise, but as recognition of the thinking behind the design itself.
Every detail of the Explorer Dog Shower has been carefully considered, from materials and proportions to usability and installation flexibility. The aim has always been to create something that feels as good as it functions.
Moments like this help reinforce something we have believed from the beginning. Practical dog care products do not need to feel like a secondary priority in the home. They can sit comfortably alongside the rest of the spaces people take pride in.
A Shared Understanding
What stood out most across the event was a shared understanding between visitors.
People recognised the problem immediately. Muddy paws are part of everyday life with dogs.
Just as importantly, they recognised the value of a solution that supports those routines without asking them to compromise on how their home looks or works.
Again and again, conversations returned to the same idea: design should support the way we live quietly, effectively and without disruption.
That response continues to guide everything we do at The Incredible Dog Shower Co.
If You Missed London
For those who weren’t able to visit the London show, there’s another opportunity to experience The Incredible Dog Shower in person.
The Ideal Home Show Scotland takes place at the SEC in Glasgow from 23–26 May 2026 and brings together design inspiration, innovation and practical solutions for modern living. It offers another chance to see how the Explorer Dog Shower fits naturally into everyday spaces designed around real routines.
Seeing the product first-hand allows visitors to understand the materials, proportions and detailing in a way that simply isn’t possible online.
Experience It First-Hand
One of the most rewarding parts of the show this year was seeing how quickly visitors understood what the product solves.
Whether they encountered the shower within the Bark Yard garden setting or inside the Your Retreats lodge interior, the response was the same. It felt like something that should already exist within the home.
If you’re planning to visit the Scottish show, we look forward to welcoming you there.

Watch Clare Balding Discover The Incredible Dog Shower
One of the highlights of the show was seeing Clare Balding experience The Incredible Dog Shower first-hand. As someone who understands the reality of life with dogs, Clare immediately recognised the thinking behind the product: a beautifully designed, practical solution that makes everyday dog care easier, cleaner and more considered.
